A Moment of Perfection

My Hibiscus bloomed today. After sitting in the Summer heat the past couple months with no flowers, it opened up once again with two gorgeous blooms. Now that the temperatures have cooled some, it has been rejuvenated. There are a couple more buds starting to develop as well.

Only a Moment

My little one dollar sale rack hibiscus paid off with a gorgeous bloom. Amazing how it has put out a flower in the middle of the summer on a 95 F day.  It did not last long in this heat, but long enough to get a photo. And… there are more buds waiting in line to bloom.

Nature’s Fireworks

Nature’s fire works of spectacular color can match any 4th of July fireworks! I stopped by the local garden store last week to pick up a few things. While there, I could not help but see the beautiful Hibiscus that were on sale. Just like exploding fireworks Hibiscus are short lived, lasting only about a day. I picked up three small orange ones that were on the reduced sale rack. Hopefully they will bloom and give me fireworks for the rest of the summer!

Fragile Canvas

Today I saw a Hibiscus bush, loaded with blossoms, at the end of a driveway. Some were blooming and some were wilted in the summer heat; while others were shrivled back into a roll. I am always drawn to these beautiful flowers, so I had to stop and take a couple of photos with my iPhone. I hope you enjoy them as much as I did.

Rich Impressions

Down the street at 1033
red hibiscus flowers grow;
Climbing up the mailbox post…
Putting out blooms for a day
before wilting away.
Rich red hues in morning sunshine…
show the world that one day of beauty
is enough to remember for a lifetime!

Today at d’Verse, Kim asked us to think about the many ways we us the word rich in our everyday life. We were to choose one of the definitions and write a Quadrille of 44 words.
