Fragile Canvas

Today I saw a Hibiscus bush, loaded with blossoms, at the end of a driveway. Some were blooming and some were wilted in the summer heat; while others were shrivled back into a roll. I am always drawn to these beautiful flowers, so I had to stop and take a couple of photos with my iPhone. I hope you enjoy them as much as I did.

Bits of sunlight art

Sprinkled on  fragile canvas

For my eyes only

Rolled up // stored away at dusk

Tomorrow it will be gone

  1. Thank you for the time to stop, take a few photos, and post them. We can’t grow hibiscus in my cold Montana climate. It was one of my California mother-in-law’s favorite flowers. Sweet memories!

  2. you just reminded me that flowers and plants go to sleep and wake up too. my blue diamonds say good night just before dusk and wake up at dawn. i love how succulent the hibiscus looks Dwight, here in Malaysia it is a deep colour, yours is really luscious. thank you for sharing and the poem pairs so well with the photo.
