On the go..
Colloquial term
Used by many when I was young
Little Phil is learning to walk
Took his first steps yesterday
Now he is on the go!
Granny broke her hip last fall
Now she is healed up and on the go!
Today at d’Verse, De asked us to make a quadrille of exactly 44 word using the word go! What came to mind immediately was a term I heard very often when I was a boy. It was the term, … on the go. These days we are not on the go as much as we used to be. I can’t wait to be on the go again!

Oh, I’d love to be on the go once again. For now I’ll have to settle for making plans for when I can be on the go. Great reminder Dwight.

I love that idiom, one of those that when I came here as a child would make me wrinkle my forehead trying to understand it. I could have used your poem then! 😀

Thank you Dora… I hear English is very complicated that way!

Dwight, love the poem. ❤ Eager to be on the go again, and not just to medical and dental appointments! 🙂 All the best!

I haven’t been on the go since a haircut a month ago! Looking forward to a doctor appointment. Oh, SIGH, how I long to be on the go again!

You’re so right, I still use that term, except now we’re on the stop 😦 Can’t wait to burn rubber out on the dragstrip again!

Very clever juxtaposition, Dwight! And I’m pretty sure that phrase is still commonly in use (at least by me!)

Thanks David. My wife says she still uses it. I am so used to it I guess I don’t think about it. Thank you very much!

I know this phrase, but I haven’t heard it in a long while. Perhaps because none of us are ‘on the go’ right now!

Ha Ha… that would make sense! Some terms seem to fade away!

I remember where I heard it now, an advertising slogan for ‘great food on the go’…

Interesting… that would work.

This made me think of my mother because she is always “on the go,” I think some personalities are just that way. I’m rather happy to chill myself. 😆

I have not minded this too much because I have a few interests that keep me occupied!

I really enjoyed the layers of time, starting to walk and hip op (or hip hop, lol) but also birth and latter years, that passage of life so quietly put.
