“A quarrelsome wife is like the dripping
of a leaky roof in a rainstorm”
It is not about the making up
Rather, about making a wise choice
Irritations wears thin rather quickly
So choose compatibility
when picking a wife
Today at d’Verse, Merril asked us to choose a proverb and write a poem that includes it. I chose Proverbs 27:15 NIV Bible.

Painting: Dwight L. Roth
- note: disclaimer- This post is not talking about my personal relationship with my wife! Rather, it is a general observation based on this proverb.
Wonderful art and great lines! That’s a rather unique (and funny) comparison between a wife and a dripping roof 😄

Bible was much ahead of its time. A book I respect for the values and truths in its verses 🙏🙏

Yes, it is … but can also be very real!!

So, so true. This can be a sad reality, especially when people jump in too soon and don’t see the red flags. Compatibility is a must when in a relationship, otherwise it can go downhill. Beautifully said and I love how you were inspired by the proverb.

Thank you Lucy. Yes, constant nagging on either part can ruin the relationship.

A leaky roof in a rainstorm is no fun at all! 😆 Creative title and use of the word “making.”
Compatibility is key.

HA! your title made me laugh.
But, truth, for sure!
And I like your painting!
I’ve known some women AND men who were drippy! 😉
(((HUGS))) 🙂
PS…if two people both believe AND live by Matthew 7:12…”treat others the way you want them to treat you…”, life can be pretty great. 🙂

Nicely done, Dwight! I like your painting, too. You are multi-talented indeed!

Hahaha! Yes, a lot of men would rather sit on the roof! But should I mention the other side? No, thats for another poem. Great job Dwight!
