We celebrated our fiftieth wedding anniversary with a cruise up the Rhine from Amsterdam to Basel. It was a wonderful week of new adventures. We met some really interesting people along the way. After a long 19 hour day of travel we were very thankful to be home again! More photos to come in future posts.

It most definitely is! My sister and her husband just celebrated their 30th and that’s equally amazing considering you just don’t see people staying together for that long anymore. Some would rather call it quits than to do the work and stay married. But then again, sometimes splitting is the only answer. Anyway, congrats! ❤

I loved Strasbourg. It has so much rich history. I found the European Council very interesting. The Cathedral was amazing.
My father’s family heritage comes from Altkirk in the southern part of Alsace. My grandfather was born there. His family emigrated to American when he was six years old. It was very moving to travel through and near that region.

This is fascinating. My family’s name was Chapeau and Pillar. They came to America in the late 1800’s.

Yes, I have written three, and an biographical semi-fiction biography of my Grandfather and his emigration to America when he was six.
