The Potter’s Love

potters-hands
Hands smoothing and shaping
Admiring sweet creation
Perfect in every form
No need to recreate
Feeling soft clay
Thin smooth as silk
Watching clay spin on the wheel
Hands reshaping and restoring
Feeling the rounded curves
Knowing how beautiful the finished product
As the light from the window glances off
Recreating every line in his mind
Feeling the rhythm of the spinning wheel
Slowing down speeding up
As the slip slides through his fingers
The wheel finally reaches its peak
A final smoothing of the hand
From top to bottom
The original potter really did
Know what he was doing
You are a unique creation

Early Spring

crucus bloom

Spring came early this year. Feels like March rather than February. Flowers are blooming in all their glory. More cold weather is predicted. Will they last? Only time will tell.

Fingers of sunshine

Petals of lavender-blue

Spring beauty soon gone

Missing Pieces

IMG_E8417

I saw this beautiful butterfly on my orange Zinnias today, as I was mowing my back yard. He did not seem to mind as I got very close with my iPhone to get a few photos. Later, when I looked at the photos I noticed he had the outer edge of his right wing missing as well as one of the tail pieces.  I had to think how this butterfly is just like us with all of our flaws and missing pieces. Best of all, I saw it did not make it any less beautiful at all. With all of our flaws, we too are still beautiful, created in the image of God.

Beautiful creature

Even with missing pieces

We are still worthwhile

The Poetry of the Sunflower

Sunflower

Poetic Patterns

This is a photos essay of a sunflower.  I took these shots today with the morning sunshine lighting up its face. Green leaves and petals accent the flower, while the seeds form fantastic patterns across the face. This is one of God’s most beautiful creations. I hope you enjoy my photos. I call it poetic patterns. This sunflower was a volunteer that grew in my back yard. Enjoy!

Jaws drop smiles become wide

A joy to the senses

Both emit energy

That is alive and vibrant

Drawing us in eyes glued

Not wanting to turn away

Feeling the special uniqueness

The only difference

Little girls grow up and change

Photos always stay the same
