Three of my windows were getting streaked and foggy in between the glass. Since they were new when we moved into our house, the life-time warranty was still in effect. I contacted the manufacturer and sent them pictures of the three windows. They agreed to send me three replacement double glass panes, but I had to pay $40 each for shipping.
I sent them a check and a couple of weeks later three large cartons arrived on my doorstep. When I picked them up to take them inside, one of the boxes had a rattling sound inside. I knew that meant the window paned was broken.Β Examining the box, I could see there was a definite crease in the middle that looked like something heavy had dropped on it. I contacted the company again and explained the situation. They are going to send me a replacement.

Well, that was a nasty surpise! I guess the shipper/delivery service didn’t get the “Handle with care” part.

Ha … ha… you are right about that. It would have taken a pretty heavy jolt to break it. It was very well packed with Styrofoam and cardboard.

Dealing with warranties is one of my least favorite jobs – frustrating!

This went pretty smoothly. They had all my information and said they would send another one. I am hoping it will come this week.

oh this is was a haiku that says it all. A good one double “Pain”!!!!! I’ll say but we’d rather hav e the window than the haiku. sorry to hear this Dwight! it doesn’t look tempered does it? I think they are all supposed to be now.. Good luck. I’m expecting a window like this any day. π

It was a surprise to hear that box sounding like a Rain Stick! I like your pick up on the double meaning of double pain! I think I will add that in. Thank you. Hopefully all will end well. You are probably right. I think tempered glass breaks in little pieces rather than sharp shards.

Totally a double pain!!! That was stellar! I hope so as well!

Sending glass that way seems kind of risky! I hope you’ll be getting intact glass soon, Dwight.

I am hoping to get the third window this coming week. There is no rush, so it is not a problem. The other two were in perfect condition.

It looks like a form of abstract art! I am sorry you have had to have all this inconvenience. I like the pain/pane play on words.

Oh, no! How frustrating. I bought shampoo from Amazon and the package was left by the door. The shampoo leaked out and was everywhere. Even the box was soaked and I can’t believe the deliverer didn’t notice. However, the story has a happy ending. I sent a photo of the mess to Amazon and they refunded my money and sent a replacement and a gift card. So I actually got the shampoo and conditioner for free. π

Unfortunately, sometimes handled care-LESS-ly…at least you can get a replacement but what a (double) pain!!
