I enjoy trying different things with my painting. I have not painted since April due to the summer heat. Now that cooler weather is here, I thought I would try a plein air painting. Plien air is a French term that simply means outdoors. I decided to paint the flowers blooming in the wooded area just beyond my back yard. By the time I finished the flowers had disappeared.

So cool to see the photos of your painting in progress outdoors!

Wow, in the second picture the painting effortlessly looks like a continuation of the trees in the background! Wonderful to see you at work and how delightfully it’s all turned out! Such a stunning piece! I always admire artists at work. They create magic with just a canvas, paint and brush 🎨

The second and third ones are when I was getting started on the painting. Thank you so much for your kind comment.

Oh, I should have meant 3rd picture*
Somehow, I forgot there was a picture before the Haiku 🙈 You must excuse me, I’m old and ailing…

Ha ha… I doubt that! The bottom two are the work in progress.

True. Got it now on a closer look. The first picture initially took some time to load. It’s turned out divinely gorgeous! Sorry, hope I’m not spamming!

It’s good to hear you’re back to painting, Dwight! I’ve always like the phrase “plein air.” It has such an elegant feel about it.

It sounds very sophisticated, but in reality is very ordinary! It was good to get back to it again.

This lovely painting transported me to a time and place several years back when I lived in a Connecticut home with a similar setting. A lovely Pheasant visited often of which I wrote. I squinted when I first looked at your painting in the hopes it contained my pheasant🌝

How nice! Sadly we have no pheasants around here. I do remember them in PA growing up. They are beautiful. I appreciate your kind comments. I am glad my painting took you back there again.
