Love the painting, but what a shame Henry didn’t want to be an astronaut, you could have sent him to the Moon, and then to Mars, and then…..
Thank you.

Every month or so d’Verse does a flash fiction day they call prosery. It is made up by them. We must write a flash fiction of exactly 144 words that contains a line from a poem they give us. This time it was: “If you are a dreamer, come in…” from Shel Silverstein’s poem Invitation. I just kept doing them for fun. The first one was the only one required.
Oh, I would love to do something like that. I wrote 100 words, 99 words flash fiction, and last year I wrote from another challenge with less than 750 words.
I hope that dream comes true for Henry!
One of my uncles worked for the railroad and was a Locomotive Engineer! I’ve always loved trains! 🙂
Your story would make a great children’s book! Kids need to be encouraged to dream! 🙂

What an eerie effect you have achieved in the painting, Dwight! The story continues to develop in an interesting way. ❤

Yes it was an odd inspiration a few years ago. I thought it would bring focus to the situation. Thanks Liz.

Thank you Cindy. I am trying to keep the 144 word format with each chapter. Makes for shorter than ususal chapters.

Your painting is very good, Dwight. How come the challenge is poetic challenge and your wrote flash fiction?
