Today at d’Verse Linda asked us to write a Quadrille of exactly 44 words celebrating the fruit of the vine, Wine! On our 50th Anniversary trip in 2019 we were treated to a complimentary bottle of Champagne. that we found in our room when we returned from our morning excursion in Cologne.

Thank you Lisa. We put it in the fridge and saved it for our last evening on the ship. Interestingly two other couples at our table that evening were also celebrating anniversaries!

Your poem has made me nostalgic for my old hometown of Cologne, Dwight. I’ve been down the Rhine many times, not on a cruise though, but I know how well they look after you on those cruise boats. A great trip for a special anniversary. I’m glad you got to visit that beautiful city before Covid closed it all down.

Cologne was a very beautiful city to visit. We only had morning excursions at most stops along the way, but I took lots of photos and tried to capture the essence of each place. The Cathedral was magnificent! It must have been great to live there! Do you ever go back?

Happy Anniversary! 50 years – quite a milestone! Did you visit the big cathedral in Cologne? I remember it well. We were there in 1962, the year we were marred! Enjoy that cruise, {{{Dwight}}}!!

Nothing like a good bubbly to celebrate a 50th wedding anniversary!!! Congratulations!
We were to be with our two children, their spouses and children for a 50th anniversary celebration and family reunion in March 2021. Then Covid. Now, we all have our vaccinations and I’m so excited we will be getting together in June for a belated anniversary celebration. We’ll be at 51 but hey…that’s even one more year to celebrate, right?
