Life’s GPS

Life is like a GPS

with every change in direction

it has to reset itself

to get where you are going.

Just as true in the spiritual realm

God’s Spirit shows us the way to go

We often choose our own path:

get off track

headed the wrong way

sometimes crash and burn;

But our Spiritual GPS

resets and lets us know

what needs to be done

to once again turn around

and head in the right direction.

I read a post from a blogger friend, Astrid, Life’s Adventure and Disability | Astrid’s Words , this morning. It inspired the opening line to this poem. The application to our spiritual life seemed to fit in so well, so I wrote this poem. Click on her link to read her poem.

  2. I’m most grateful for the Lord’s GPS–because sometimes I say or do things with the very best of intentions…and they weren’t God’s idea at all. But I’d have no courage to get out of bed and say/do anything, if I didn’t have faith’s security that when I fumble, HE’ll make it right 🙂 Blessings to you–oooh, I see you have a new photo up, way to go!!!

  3. Well done, {{{Dwight}}} – you took a prompt and ran with it. Yes, “our Spiritual GPS resets and lets us know what needs to be done” IF WE TUNE IN TO IT!! Just like the GPS in our cars, it don’t work if it ain’t on!!

  4. A great metaphor for these GPS-times and very timely for what is going on these days!
Your wonderful poem reminds me of “Be still and know that I am God…” A reminder to listen and then act…not act and then fret. His Spirit wants to guide and help us. 🙂
    (((HUGS))) 🙂
PS…an interesting and good-choice photo for your poem!
