Daffodil Delight

Daffodils smiling

as I pulled in the driveway

Springtime in winter

How does such beauty

wake up from winter’s long sleep

A touch of God’s love

Be a daffodil!

  1. Daffodils blooming is such a beautiful sight, signalling return of the warm sunny days. I was waiting to see this, and those are some lovely photos you captured Dwight.

    I can see those lovely woods too in the second photo. It would be a bliss for walks during the warmer days I think 🙂

  2. “For oft, when on my couch I lie
    In vacant or in pensive mood,
    They flash upon that inward eye
    Which is the bliss of solitude;
    And then my heart with pleasure fills,
    And dances with the daffodils.”
    – William Wordsworth.
    Yes, truly a touch of God’s love…❤️🙏

  3. Dwight, the supermarkets in Florida carry pots of spring flowers…daffodils, tulips, and hyacinths. Tulips are often available year-round. The daffodils and hyacinths should be here any day now! Lilies and amaryllis grow outdoors here. Your daffodils are gorgeous! Beautiful haikus. Thank you for sharing them. ❤ Enjoy your weekend!

  5. Every spring, for the Lord knows how long, I recall standing in front of my 6th grade class in Atlanta, GA reciting… I wandered lonely as a cloud, That floats on high o’er vales and hills, When all at once I saw a crowd, A host, of golden daffodils. Of course, my memory only saved the first verse *wink*
