This is my latest project done during the few warm days of winter. It is the painting of a farm near Singers Glen, Virginia. During college dating years, we enjoyed some beautiful days there up under the oak tree on the hill. We even took our engagement photo next to that tree! I sent it to my niece, whose grandparents lived there.

I love the impasto style of painting. Texture adds feeling in my mind!

Thank you for letting me know what that style of painting is called. I didn’t know that.

I am not sure how well it fits the true style, but it is a thicker more textured form of painting.

Thanks, I love texture. It gives life to the picture.

What beautiful memories, Dwight! ❤ That is a lovely area. I used to visit my parents when they lived near Harrisonburg for four years. All the best!

It is a wonderful area to live. We live in Harrisonburg for eight years after we were married. Thanks Cheryl.

I just love the way the grounds around that teak tree is painted. It must be so much fun to be able to make paintings out of places with such great memories, and hang them up in the wall to revisit the memories whenever you want. The place looks great too.

I am glad you like the texture of the field. It is so much fun to paint places like this and then give them to people who will appreciate them.
