Abstract Perception

Life a series of abstract images

Some realistic some absurd

Reality eludes the ideologist

Illusions of truth plague the pragmatist

Do we seek the photo image

Or blurred lines of enhanced color

Abstractions of truth stand alone

In the minds of all who follow

Distortions also stand alone

In media and pulpit

Abstraction better left

To paint slingers and sculptors

Leaving voyeurs of truth

To speculate on what they perceive

And claim it as their own

  1. Beautiful painting, a thought-provoking poem, Dwight! ❀ Whenever anyone says they have "the truth," you can be pretty certain that if you don't share their views, they will believe you to be "wrong." Maybe in mathematics, there are some absolute truths, but in life, there are multitudes of differing perspectives. πŸ™‚

Your painting reminds me of the sinuous capitals on Greek or Roman columns, gracefully architectural.
What I like about abstract art is that it stirs the imagination, and everyone finds different meanings in it.

    All the best!
