North Saskatchewan
Cars flow above river’s flow
Both will freeze over
Steel bridge long gone … cars still flow
Traded for concrete four-lane

I took this photo many years ago from the top of the CN Tower in Edmonton, Alberta. What a different perspective from the top floor. Security would not let us up there these day!
This is written in the Tanka form.
Grand view ! Wonderful photography 👍🤝

Cool historic photo! 👏🏼 My grandfather was born and raised in Saskatchewan. I would love to visit. I have been to Vancouver, BC. Beautiful place.

The prairie is quite different from the mountains of BC. Edmonton is a great city to visit.

Dwight, your blog is so much fun to read, truly! 🙂
It feels like you’ve seen so much (and, in part, because you are the sort to actually notice things and pay attention).

Thank you David, I appreciate your kind affirmation. Poetry tends to do that to you… makes you notice things around you. On the other hand, if I didn’t,, I would run out of material to write about! LOL

Excellent tanka, such a good metaphor for the passage of time. *sharing*

I loved the idea of the flow as I saw the cars crossing the flowing river.
