Heidelberg Roof Tops

Our river cruise made a stop at Heidelberg, Germany last summer. A short bus ride took us to the old town and up to the grand Heidelberg Castle. The panoramic view of the city from there was wonderful.  Many of the house roofs we saw looked much the same. Every now and then we saw special roofs with designs created on them . It was so interesting to see all the unique styles, some the went back to Medieval times.

  1. Gorgeous, Dwight! I am always intrigued by roofs, doors, windows, the artistry…architecture as a whole! Thank you for sharing the beauty you captured in your photos!

One of the things that has always fascinated me is…the detail and artistry in/on the roofs of very old buildings…I don’t know that they ever thought there might be buildings taller some day or people could see the tops of the roofs some day…yet they made everything so beautiful…whether anyone would see it or not. 🙂

And Ivor is right…your haiku IS delightful! 🙂

    HUGS!!! 🙂
