Little green tree frog
Clowning on my sliding door
Cute Clown eyes peaking
Out of the blue … lightning strikes!
Eyes bulge to tenth the power!!

Today at d’Verse. Lisa asked us to write a poem using the word Clown. I have no first hand knowledge of Clowns, so I decided to clown around with my poem which I wrote in Tanka form. Hope it makes you smile!

I hope it was just clowning around, and poor Mr. Tree Frog didn’t actually get hit by lightning!

I also hope it didn’t get hit by lightning in real. Poor fellow.

No that is just a flash going off in the glass.

I felt the same. I feel sympathy for animals because like us humans they can’t speak and express their pain.

Ahh, I love this poem. Every time I’d see these frogs on my window, they’d just scare me. Seriously, I don’t get all the hype with clowns, but frogs? They’re just weird, and yes I admit, a tad frightening to me. I think it’s just how they look, and their eyes, oh dear lord and all things ribbity…
Very nice piece here and it’s a great take on the prompt. Wonderful work!

Don’t let frogs scare you they are just cold and green… not slimy!

I did get a chuckle out of your tanka, Dwight. The eyes bulging out at the lightning reminds me of a cartoon. Remember that one about the singing frog that wouldn’t sing when the guy wanted him to?

Dwight, I love the pictures of your tree frog. Curious little one …. and scared.
That flash from the camera probably put him off visiting again.
