As time slips by I find joy in moments
Beauty of yellow wildflowers swaying
Song of bright red Cardinal singing sweetly
The world around me struggles with rebirth
The same weeds come up from long hidden roots
Pulled so plump red tomatoes can grow
This is Quadrille Monday at d’Verse Poets Pub. Linda asked us to write a Quadrille of exactly 44 words using the prompt slip. My poem today deals with the passage of time; living one day at a time, and being in the moment of awareness of all that is going on around me.

This resonates. It is amazing if we truly take in a moment of nature, love, joy…how much it can mean to us now as years seem to slip so quickly. A beautiful quadrille.

joy in moments of awareness
of all that is going on around me.
The lockdown is a blessing in a way to make us appreciate the things around us which otherwise would pass off just like that. Very true Dwight!

Your poem immediately brought to mind the Steve Miller Band’s song “Fly Like an Eagle.”

There is definitely a song hidden in the title…. “time keeps on slippin slippin slippin into the future!”
