This painting caused me great frustration in getting the turtle to look right in the sand. As a result it remained unfinished. Finally, I simply redid the painting, keeping the moon and changing the scene from the beach to the mountains. I like the way it turned out. A friend that I work with decided he wanted it, so now it has a good home.
Some things in life don’t
turn out the way you had planned
Time to change the scene
Rethink what is important
Recreate something you love

*The turtle lies at the point where the stream turns!
Wow! That’s a good perspective to look at things. Btw, both painitngs look beautiful😊

Thank you so much! As I look back at it I like it more than I did then. I tend to see all the flaws when I am painting. I appreciate your kind comments.

Is the easel part of the painting? I love the entire scene, your studio included but I suspect it is a photograph….

No, the easel is the easel. I paint in my garage when the weather is comfortable. I open the door and paint! I tend to be a messy painter, but it works for me!

Thank You for sharing both versions of the painting. They are both beautiful, each with a different message. I like both!

Thank you so much! I probably should have finished the first one, but it was just not coming together the way I envisioned it.

No one would ever know it by looking at it.

Yes! Sometimes writing is like that too. If it doesn’t fit, don’t try and make it. Just start something a little different.

It’s a beautiful painting. Do you sell your work? You should.

Life is like that. We have to be willing to punt. Not all balls have homer potential. But sometimes a punt can drive home a winner! This one did!

Nothing seems to satisfy me more than taking something old and worn out and changing it to something completely new. Great post
