Touches of spring come up out of the ground, reminding us not to despair. Warm weather is just around the corner. I saw this lone crocus shining in the pine-bark mulch along my sidewalk. The tiny green sprigs accenting the egg-yoke colored blossom is a joy to see. The daffodils are already starting to bloom as warm southerly breezes continue through this week here in North Carolina.

truly a miracle to behold when they start to push through, I saw some when I was traveling through Canada years ago, gorgeous colours and fragrances, everyone going about their gardening. thank you for sharing some warmth and light for the soul

Thank you Jade. I have learned so much about writing haiku from the folks at d’Verse Poets Pub. I try to stay true to the formula. The flower was so pretty. Today with all the rain the bloom is gone!

A beautiful haiku. I saw my first crocuses of the year yesterday … in the cemetery. ☺. They were lovely golden ones too.

I see more wildlife in our local cemetery than anywhere else in the town. 🙂

I love those first signs of spring, too. Ours are pushing up, but they haven’t bloomed yet–and it’s going to get colder here in NJ today.

Thankfully the rain has past and the sun is shinning. All the daffodils will open today.

Interesting how such tiny little pieces of beauty can inspire a poet to dream and write! Thanks Ken. Very nice!
