Harvest Moon

Moonlight River Painting - impasto (4)

Harvest moon rises

 On Friday the Thirteenth eve

Once in our lifetime

No need for superstition

Snow falls on the peaks

Painting B&W edit: Dwight L. Roth

Frank Tassone asked us to write a Haikai poem about the Harvest Moon. This one is very unique in that it comes on Friday the Thirteenth. It has not done that since the 1800s. We missed it here due to the much needed rain that came through last evening.

  2. Lovely painting and verse. I wasn’t aware that the last Friday the 13th harvest moon was so long ago – I celebrate every Friday the 13th as a good luck day 😉
I think there is at least one Friday the 13th in every year. I cannot recall a year where there wasn’t at least one. This year there is another in December.

I may not have seen the Harvest moon but I did get to see another sort of stellar event (a five line Elfje):
    Good Catch in Our Neighborhood
