I saw this beautiful butterfly on my orange Zinnias today, as I was mowing my back yard. He did not seem to mind as I got very close with my iPhone to get a few photos. Later, when I looked at the photos I noticed he had the outer edge of his right wing missing as well as one of the tail pieces. I had to think how this butterfly is just like us with all of our flaws and missing pieces. Best of all, I saw it did not make it any less beautiful at all. With all of our flaws, we too are still beautiful, created in the image of God.
Beautiful creature
Even with missing pieces
We are still worthwhile

Stunningly beautiful photo Roth and an equally beautiful Haiku…

Awww. This really made me feel good this evening. I spent the day at my grandkids’ birthday party and we saw a little monarch sitting on top of a bunch of purple sun flower. My 17 month old loved watching it. You and I connected today.

Oh so true… and if you had not pointed them out, I would not have even noticed the flaws! It’s like that with most of our flaws, too. We see them, because we scrutinize ourselves, but most folks don’t notice. And isn’t it reassuring to know, God only looks at our hearts!?

Yes, it really is great! Our flaws are just temporary! We make the best of what we have! Thanks Jan!

This is one beautiful butterfly, Dwight. Missing pieces and all. I love what you
write to compare the butterflies and ourselves.
Like you I adore butterflies and delight every day possible.
Lovely poem to go with your prose and picture.

Amazing how we an now always have a camera available at a moments notice. It has turned all of us armatures into photographers.

My 16 month old granddaughter was greeted by a Monarch. It landed on her head and stuck with her for a long while which she did not like. I think it was a good sign.

I am sure it was unsettling for the little one! Thanks.
