Frank Tassone asked us to consider the up coming solstice, which is sometimes referred to as Midsummer Solstice. In the southern hemisphere is the Midwinter Solstice. He asked that we write the haikai poem of our choice (haiku, senryu, haibun, tanka, haiga, renga, etc.) that alludes to our choice of either midsummer (manatsu) of midwinter (mafuyu).

Happy Father’s Day!
It would be nice to actually get some light – if it could stop raining for more than a few hours at a time. XD
I think this June we may have had 2 days without some rain in the 16 days so far!

Thank you! The rain all went north this year. We had our first good rain in a month a week ago. Finally back to spring rather than summer temps.

I’ll take spring temps. Summer can get too hot to me… 70 – 75. But then I like all four seasons 3 months each 😉

The picture looks so cooling. It’s been over 20 plus years since I was on a lake. The shade is more my style. Great poem!
