Flying always takes a lot out of you. This is true of life as well. Seems the older I get the faster life moves ahead. Feels, sometimes, like you are sitting at the end of the runway, hoping nothing is coming toward you.
Sitting on runway
Staring into the distance
No oncoming planes
Relieved the runway is clear
As life races toward take off

Great reflections and photos. The modern economy flights are not for the weak. It is survival of the toughest. ๐ . It isn’t just years, it is respect and care for each other that makes for a good or bad flight.
That sad it is harder to walk the long way to exists than for someone in peak fitness. Just arrived back last night on a very noisy short haul and feeling battered and bruised. ๐ .

Yes the one we had was a five and a half minute to walk from the plane to customs!

What a beautiful image! You reminded me … โTake-offs are optional, but landings are mandatory!โ Thank you!

My daughter and her five children flew to Hawaii last weekend. Some were excited and others were apprehensive because they had never flown before. Now Hurricane Lane is heading straight for them. They were on beachfront property but managed to switch to the last room in a hotel on higher ground. Seven of them are in one room, waiting. We have been communicating via facetime on the iPad every day and the grandkids are apprehensive . Life is full of experiences and we never know what the next experience will be. Your runway poem is timely “Feels like you’re sitting on the runway hoping nothing is coming towards you”.
