Rising from the depths
Summer calls for their loud call
Leaving shells on trees
Emerging transformed creatures
Tinnitus of the forest

As the cicadas rub their wings in a frantic sounding mating call, Frank Tassone asked us to consider them as we write our Saturday Haikai poem today.
#Haikai Challenge #44 (7/28/18): Cicada (Semi) #haiku #senryu #haibun #tanka #haiga #renga
In multitudes they make a lot of noise but up close they have a beauty not match by any other critter.

Thank you Rosaliene. That came to mind since I live with it ringing in my ears all the time.

Tinnitus – I can relate to that – my hubby has a bit of an issue with that.
My guess though is the cicada song bothers me more 😉
