Earthday
So many people
Large anthills all over this ball
How do we compare
Protecting our Earth from harm
Challenging polluters gain

This is for Frank Tassone’s Haikia/Haiku Saturday challenge using the word Earth for upcoming Earth Day tomorrow! If you have ever stepped on an anthill in your bare feet you will understand this poem.
#Haikai Challenge #30 (4/21/18): Earth… #Haiku #Senryu #Haibun #Tanka #Haiga #Renga
Somewhere in my yard I also have biting red ants! But I can smell them when I dig in the garden.
Humans are not quite as sophisticated ant colonies, which seem to have more co-operation.
Your photos remind me of all the unnecessary building in our area. Finally though some of the abandon stores are getting a second use. I did a haibun for this prompt.
I hope to get to last weeks entries, but I was away. At least it is warmer here, at home. It was 20 to 40 degrees colder where I was.

Yes, if we worked together like ants our planet would be a better place!

We won’t do anything together until the very last when it’s to save the skins of the rich and powerful. I have no faith in humanity at all.

Love watching the ants labour. If you ever come across a book called The Soul of the White Ant, by the South African naturalist, Eugene Marais, I recommend you read it. Fascinating research.
